Anatomy of an Offer
Advertisers pay you for providing valid contact information and checking out their products. Most offers will require the basics - name, email, phone, street address, and birth date - and will not collect a credit card or other payment details.

Using false information is fraud.
In addition to not receiving credit for the offer, those who use false information are at a very high risk of losing their Points2Shop account when an advertiser reports the fraud.

Don't worry, although you must provide correct information, you can avoid
telemarketers and junk email with a few simple tips:
  1. Make a new email address just for offers. Make an email account with Gmail, Yahoo, or some other provider to keep your primary email free of junk. Check this email often, many offers require you to verify your email address.
  2. Get a free second phone number in your area code. Brring is a service which offers a free second phone number which forwards to your primary phone after playing an ad. Most telemarketers will just hang up! Read more about Brring and telemarketers.
  3. Don't be afraid to use your home address. Paper junk mail is very uncommon as a result of doing these offers, it's too expensive to send junk mail.

Visit the offer page

Anatomy of an Offer
Leaving Points2Shop to visit the advertiser's offer page, you will see a wide variety of registration forms, colorful landing pages, and occasionally you must click yet another banner ad to get to the offer.

After clicking "Visit Offer" on Points2Shop, you will be brought to a page that allows you to begin the process of completing an offer. Pay attention to the offer that you clicked and ask yourself the following questions:
  1. Is this the correct site? Sometimes offers are redirected improperly, if there is nothing in common between the page you see and the title and description of the offer you clicked on Points2Shop, do not do the offer.
  2. Are they asking for a credit card or social security number? Do not provide your credit card number or SSN/SIN/NI unless it is required to sign up for a product or service that you want. Such offers are not recommended for newer users.
  3. Have I completed this offer before? If you already completed the offer on Points2Shop or another GPT site, you cannot do it a second time.
Complete the requirements on the first page to move on to the remainder of the offer. If you are asked for simply an email on the first page, the next page will require more contact info.

Learn offer requirements

Anatomy of an Offer
Most point or cash incentive offers have similar requirements, but the best way to get specific details for an offer is to read comments posted by people who earned credit!

The majority of offers on Points2Shop have the following basic set of requirements:
  1. Must provide valid contact information including your real name, email, phone, address, and birth date.
  2. Must disable ad-blocking software.
  3. Must pass through entire offer generally an offer ends after seeing many ads at a "CPA wall."

Other occasional requirements include:
  1. Must click account activation link to confirm your email address.
  2. Must participate in at least one offer to proceed to the next step usually at least one choice is a simple free signup.
  3. Must download and install a free software product see safe downloading practices.

To learn more about the requirements for a specific offer, read the offer comments on Points2Shop or use the shoutbox to find others who have successfully complete the offer. Often we will post helpful advice such as "email confirmation was required" or "I stopped when it asked for my SSN but it still credited."

A more in-depth look at offer requirements:

Many offers list "paid requirements" which you must complete in order to have a chance to receive the item they are advertising. There is no guarantee that completing the offers that the advertiser displays will allow you to claim the prize. Often the prizes are awarded in a sweepstakes and completing paid requirements simply entitles you to an entry in the drawing.

Most offers do not require any sort of payment to receive points
It is not necessary to complete any paid requirements to receive points at Points2Shop - you may simply click the banners for the paid ads and then close the popup windows. This applies only to secondary offers presented by the advertiser. If the offer that you clicked on Points2Shop is itself a paid offer, then you will of course need to provide credit card details to complete the order and earn points.

An example of prize vs. points
For instance, consider an offer worth 66 points on Points2Shop which advertises an Xbox 360 Elite for Free with "participation required." To earn the 66 points you will need to complete the standard requirements listed above, but when asked to complete paid offers you can choose "Skip," "No," or when the option is not provided, simply click the offer banners and then close the popup windows.

Cost-per-action revenue and "your prize"
Consider how much you would need to spend on paid offers to actually earn an Xbox. The money you spend is not going directly to the advertiser, they are earning only a portion of it in cost-per-action (CPA) revenue to pay for the prizes. It is very unlikely that you will actually receive any sizable prize by registering for a few paid services.

If you try to complete the requirements to receive a large prize, as some have, be sure to note the full terms of the program. There is often a time limit of 60 days to complete these offers.

Small prizes may actually arrive!
Some offers, such as MyInsiderDeals (MID), advertise small products which can be distributed as free samples. Often these offers will end in a "certificate" which you can print and mail in to receive your prize. The prizes are usually nothing big but if you are interested, it's a great way to get a little more than just points out of some of the offers.

Discounted Amazon Items for Points2Shop members

If you are an Amazon seller interested in offering special discounts to other Points2Shop members, post a comment on this entry. You may post special prices on individual items or a global discount on all of your items.

If you are interested in purchasing from a seller listed here, please contact the seller via Amazon or Points2Shop to negotiate a price drop when you are ready to make your purchase. Sellers, please update your item price to reflect the Points2Shop discount before the buyer places the order on Points2Shop.

If the item is listed at the regular price on Points2Shop, this is because it takes awhile for the Amazon data to update. Points2Shop welcomes manual orders in such circumstances - simply send a support ticket which describes which item you want and what the price should be.

There is no legally binding agreement, this is just a forum for Points2Shop members to sell more and buy cheaper!
